Digital Trade, Data Protection and the EU Adequacy Club

A peer-reviewed article in Economica (LSE) examining how the EU’s data-adequacy decisions affect digital trade. These agreements let trusted countries exchange data freely with the EU, and we find they significantly boost digital trade — with an extra “club effect” where adequacy partners trade even more with each other.
